Quick answers to help you shop confidently.
Wood Pressed oil (Lakdi Ghani) is extracted using a traditional wooden pestle that absorbs heat, keeping the oil at room temperature. Cold Pressed oil is extracted using modern mechanical presses at low temperatures. Both methods avoid chemicals and high heat, but wood pressing is the most ancient and natural method of preserving nutrients.
Refined oils are mass-produced using high heat and chemical solvents (like hexane) to extract every last drop. Sarso Sakti uses a “slow extraction” method where we get less oil from the seed but keep 100% of the natural nutrients, antioxidants, and flavor intact. You are paying for purity and health.
Yes! Wood-pressed groundnut oil has a high smoke point, making it one of the safest and healthiest options for deep frying and sautéing in Indian cooking without the oil breaking down into harmful toxins.
Absolutely not. Our “Virgin” grade oils are 100% natural. We do not use bleaching agents, artificial fragrances, or preservatives. The oil you get is exactly as nature intended—pure and unrefined.
Cloudiness or small sediments are a sign of purity in unrefined oils. Since we do not chemically filter our oil (we use natural sedimentation), some tiny seed particles remain. These are rich in nutrients and perfectly safe to consume.
Yes, it is excellent. Because our oil is extracted without heat, it retains its natural Lauric acid and Vitamin E, making it a superior natural moisturizer for skin and a nourishing treatment for hair growth.
Since our oils are natural and preservative-free, they generally have a shelf life of 6 to 9 months. We recommend storing them in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight to maintain their freshness and aroma.
High-speed machines generate heat that destroys sensitive Omega-3 fatty acids and vitamins. Our slow-speed wood press ensures the oil’s molecular structure remains stable, providing you with heart-healthy fats and better digestion.
es. The strong, pungent aroma is the hallmark of real mustard oil (Allyl Isothiocyanate). Because we don’t use heat-based deodorization, our mustard oil retains its natural “kick” and therapeutic properties.
Our main office is located at 65 Sukantapark, Narayan Tala West, Kolkata – 700 101. We take pride in our Bengali roots while serving customers who value traditional Indian wellness across the country.
